Editorial Review
If you are unsure how ready the draft is, an Editorial Review can help identify its strengths, gaps and priorities before deciding on an edit. It is separately scoped.
Developmental editing
Work on structure, argument, chapter order, depth and the reader’s journey. Address missing material, repetition and ideas that need more development.
Line editing
Refine sentences, flow and expression so complex ideas are easier to follow while preserving your voice.
Copyediting
Check grammar, punctuation, spelling and consistency of language and style.
Proofreading is a separate final check after the text and layout are ready. Your proposal identifies the level of editing and review stages included.
Design & Typesetting
Cover design
Shape a cover around your reader, subject and positioning. We consider how the title, imagery and typography work together, including how the cover reads at a small size.
Interior design and typesetting
Turn the approved manuscript into a clear, consistent reading experience. Typography, spacing, headings and any agreed tables or illustrations help readers navigate the content.
Design and file preparation are agreed for the formats and publishing route your project needs.
Proofreading
Proofreading is the final check of the prepared text and layout before publication.
We check for remaining spelling, punctuation and typographical errors, along with inconsistencies and layout issues that can appear during production.
This stage follows substantive editing. It focuses on final corrections, rather than restructuring chapters or rewriting the manuscript.
